Darren Brown is a clinical Physiotherapist specialising in HIV and Oncology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, United Kingdom, which is the largest HIV unit in Europe. Darren leads the HIV Physiotherapy service providing both inpatient and outpatient Physiotherapy interventions for adults living with HIV. The outpatient HIV Physiotherapy service includes the Kobler Rehabilitation Class, which Darren created in 2012 and continues to develop through community, clinical, and academic partnerships. The Kobler Rehabilitation Class is an open-access group rehabilitation intervention for people living with HIV, providing exercise and education specific to the needs of people living with HIV and episodic disabilities. Darren completed a National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) awarded Masters of Clinical Research in 2018, and is pursuing a clinical academic career pathway, researching prevalence of disability experienced by people living with HIV in the UK. Darren is the vice-chair of the UK Rehabilitation in HIV Association (RHIVA), member of the Canada-International HIV Rehabilitation Research collaborative (CIHRRC), and HIV/AIDS special interest coordinator of WCPT Network IPT-HOPE. Darren is also a member of the WCPT Congress Programme Committee (CPC) for Geneva #WCPT2019.
