Jorunn L Helbostad is physiotherapist and Professor in Human Movement Science. She is Head of Department of Neuromedicine and Movement Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. She is the principle investigator of the EU Horizon 2020 project, PreventIT which is an ICT and personalised health project aiming at preventing functional decline in seniors by use of mobile health technology. Her research concerns movement control and behaviour at old age, including prevention of functional decline, falls prevention, rehabilitation, measurement and interventions related to gait, balance and physical activity.
