Jon graduated last century from Otago Physiotherapy School in New Zealand with a Diploma of Physiotherapy. Since then he has gained a Postgraduate Diploma of Sports Medicine and a Master of Health Science from Otago University, and a Doctor of Health Science from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Diego. He also was an Advanced Practitioner in the New Zealand College of Physiotherapy. Jon has worked professionally in New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States. His professional experience includes twenty years owning a musculoskeletal/sports private practice in New Zealand, six years as an Assistant Professor at the University of St. Augustine for Health Science in San Diego, California. He has represented the New Zealand profession for many years, including four years as President of Physiotherapy New Zealand. His present role is Professional Advisor to the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand. This has included developing a potential regulated 'Advanced Practice' role. He has published mainly in the musculoskeletal area academically; his numerous non-academic publications span a wide range of professional issues. He has presented nationally and internationally including the APA conference 2017, INPTRA 2017, and WCPT (2017, 2015, 2013).
